Total Time 18 mins
Ingredients
  • 10 fresh jalapenos, halved lengthwise
  • 8 oz (225 g)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
  1. 1
    Prepare the jalapenos:
  2. 2
Slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to remove the seeds and membranes. For milder poppers, clean out completely; for more heat, leave some membrane.
  3. 3
    Mix the filling:
  4. 4

In a bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and green onions. Mix.

  5. 5
    Stuff the jalapenos:
  6. 6
Fill each jalapeno half with the cream cheese mixture, slightly overfilling the top for a creamier bite.
  7. 7
    Add the crunchy topping:
  8. 8
Mix melted butter with panko breadcrumbs. Press the filling side of each jalapeno into the breadcrumb mixture to coat.
  9. 9
    Air fry:
  10. 10
Place the jalapenos in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the filling is bubbly.
  11. 11
    Serve:
  12. 12
Let cool for 1–2 minutes, then serve with ranch, spicy mayo, or garlic aioli.
Note

  • Wear gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid irritation.
  • For extra crunch, double-coat the tops in panko.
  • Add a slice of bacon around each jalapeno before air-frying for a smoky variation.
  • These can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 4 days or frozen up to 3 months.
