Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cups ½ all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans (toasted recommended)
Instructions

    In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

    Add in the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

    Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans evenly.

    Scoop dough into 1.5-tablespoon balls and place on a lined baking sheet. Chill for 30 minutes.

Note

Toasting the pecans enhances flavor—simply dry-toast them in a pan for 5 minutes before adding.

For uniform cookies, use a scoop and shape with a round cutter while still warm.
