Total Time 28 mins
Ingredients
  • 20 white 20–24 button or cremini mushrooms
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (fresh or well-drained canned)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
  1. 1
    Prepare the mushrooms:
  2. 2
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Clean the mushrooms with a damp towel and remove the stems. Place the mushroom caps on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. 3
    Mix the filling:
  4. 4
In a medium bowl, combine the lump crab meat, cream cheese, green onion, Parmesan, parsley, and any optional ingredients you are using. Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
  5. 5
    Stuff the mushrooms:
  6. 6
Spoon the crab filling into each mushroom cap, creating a small mound on top. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs over each stuffed mushroom and drizzle lightly with melted butter.
  7. 7
    Bake:
  8. 8
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and the filling is heated through.
  9. 9
    Serve:
  10. 10
Let the mushrooms cool for 5 minutes, then serve warm as a party appetizer or baby shower bite.
Note

For the best texture, use lump crab meat, not shredded crab.

Pat the mushrooms dry—extra moisture can make the filling watery.

You can prepare the mushrooms up to 24 hours ahead and bake just before serving.

Add breadcrumbs and melted butter for a crispier topping.
