Turkey and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients
  • 8 slices sandwich bread (white, whole wheat, or brioche)
  • 12 oz sliced turkey breast (340 g)
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (or softened butter)
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for toasting)
Instructions

    Lay the bread slices on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise (or butter) on one side of each slice.

    On four slices of bread, layer the turkey evenly, folding it slightly for a fuller texture.

    Place one slice of cheese on top of the turkey.

    Add lettuce and a few slices of tomato.

    Top with the remaining bread slices, spread-side down, and gently press.

     (toasted version): Heat a pan over medium heat, add a little butter, and toast each sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side.

    Cut in halves or quarters for serving.
